Dr. Urbanosky is a noted expert in the area of hand and upper extremity treatment. Her expertise and treatment is sought out by patients as well as physicians facing complicated and difficult cases. She is continually consulted for second opinions and cases of misdiagnoses. She is board certified and fellowship trained, specializing in the treatment of arm and hand disorders. Dr. Urbanosky is known for the personal and thorough care provided to each of her patients.
Dr. Urbanosky joined Hinsdale Orthopaedics in June 2006 and has earned a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand.
After completing her residency training at West Virginia University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Urbanosky progressed to a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Under the direction of Dr. Gary Poehling, a pioneer of joint arthroscopy, Dr. Urbanosky excelled in arthroscopy of fingers, wrist, thumb, elbow and shoulder. Her work with Dr. L. Andrew Koman, a world leader in microvascular hand surgery, focused on microvascular surgery of the upper extremity for developmental, congenital and traumatic, as well as systemic nerve problems.
Dr. Urbanosky is an Associate Master Instructor of wrist and elbow arthroscopy courses at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Rosemont, Illinois and serves as a volunteer instructor for the ASSH "Lend a Hand" program at the University of Illinois at Chicago medical student anatomy lab. Dr. Urbanosky is affiliated with many professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, Chicago Hand Society and the Biltmore "Who's Who" Registry of Executives and Professionals: Honored Lifetime VIP member.
