Body Composition
We now know that a better assessment of general fitness in adults and children alike can be determined by calculating an individual's body mass index (BMI). This is an objective scientific measure that is calculated and then adjusted using height and weight.
By adding software to our state of the art Dexa scanner, we can determine body composition by calibrating the BMI and percent body fat. Dexa scanner results are more accurate than tests done by caliper, electrical impedance or from water bath immersion and are considered the gold standard. This test is especially useful for people enrolled in a weight loss program or for those who wish to define their ideal body composition as part of an overall performance assessment.
